Do not recommend. Payton Roofing was contracted to replace my roof prior to solar panel installation. The roof work was "completed" about 1 year ago (2022), the house was tented for termites in March of 2023, and exterior wall repainting was started in August 2023. While pressure washing the fascia prior to painting, extensive termite damage was revealed, along with other water-rotted fasci. At this time, I also found a hole left in the eave by Payton, as well as damage to a decorative portion of porch covering where they negligently placed nails, then seemed to realize and remove most, however the damage remained. I reviewed the contract in reference to the rotted fascia, it states up to 100ft of rotted fascia and planking will be replace and that the customer is responsible for additional charges for any amount over the included 100ft. Only 60ft of fascia was replaced at my best estimate, and regardless, I should have been notified and charged accordingly to complete the work. As for the damage to the decorative area, the only response I received was "well, they removed the nails," which is not the even accurate. This company's representatives also advised "it passed inspection," and while I am not a roofer nor an inspector, I can assure the rotted/damaged wood found was NOT the result of 6 months to a year of normal wear and tear. The final response received through their representatives was that "Tim" would fix the issue for $1,100, or just cover it up for $650. I found this laughable as I feel this work should have been done at the time of replacement and also for the question of why I would re-hire a company who originally performed such shoddy work? I have waited patiently for "Tim" to call me back in 5 minutes as he stated for 2 weeks now. I have attempted to speak with this company through their representatives since August to discuss the issues. I did not haggle the cost of this roof replacement, nor did I ask for any favors or corners to be cut; I would have had no issue covering the additional cost to replace what was damaged. This is a house I plan to reside in for many years and raise my child in, so I am very disappointed in the careless and unsatisfactory work performed by Payton. More so, as an adult and professional, I do not understand how there is such poor communication and poor workmanship from a company claiming 30 years of experience.
Just checking some of these reviews. I’ve had Payton Roofing at two of my properties in the past. Both single family homes. He was the lowest bidder and did exceptional work. Many of my firefighter friends have used his company for the very same reason. It’s a shame to see negative comments when everyone I recommend him to has nothing but good things to say!
I Hired this company to do a simple repair 2 weeks later the roof started to leak again. I called them no answer I left multiple messages they never called back.
I have used Payton Roofing multiple times in the last decade. I have always been satisfied with the services received. He was the most reasonable price-wise out of all the estimates that I got. He was always finishing on time and upholding all the agreements. It was a pleasure to do business with Mr. Tim.
